Main Ideas of Hebrews Jesus is a higher revelation than what was given through prophets, because He is divine (1:1-3) Jesus is more excellent than the angels, who are given to serve us (1:10-12, 1:14, 13:2) Jesus is the better man, come to save believing children of men, not to save angels (2:5-16) Jesus is worthy of more glory than Moses, like the builder of a house is over the house (3:1-6) Jesus is The Great High Priest, foreseen in Melchizedek, prophesied in Ps. 110 (2:17-8:5) Jesus brought a better covenant, having given His own body and blood as the sacrifice that actually atones for sin (8:6-10:18) We are warned not to reject Jesus (2,3-4,6,10,12) Faith, hope, and love are our appropriate response, as modeled by witnesses (10:19-12:4) God will discipline us for our good as we discipline our lives for the Kingdom (12:5-29) Practical Christian living in love, remembrance, sexual purity, contentment, and submission to church leaders is to Jesus’ glory (13:1-25)
